Happy Monday friends! My focus this month is to organize and design a few of my “trouble” spots. The first, and easiest, is the upstairs bathroom. It’s the one I use daily, and my toiletries have just kind of spread out over every surface. My first goal is to increase style without spending a lot. I’ve found that if I really love a space, I keep it organized and clean. January is the perfect time for this type of project because it’s too cold to work outside, and my budget is usually slim after the holidays.
Want to join me? If so, here’s a few simple ideas for making your bathroom more stylish.
We’ll start with the easiest way to make your bathroom more stylish: flowers or art.
This bathroom remodel by Ab Chao shows just how easy it is to make your bathroom memorable. A small vase placed over the sink, washi-taped polaroids, and a simple framed “love” print, add up to a lot of style. I really love how the flowers match the print!
If you get natural light in your bathroom, add a potted tree, like this topiary from Maisons Côté Sud via Linen and Lavender, or a citrus tree, via Dos Family. It adds life (literally) and because it’s a plant it lasts longer than fresh flowers.
Fresh flowers are the perfect match to this tray with lotion and soap dispensers by AM Dolce Vita via Houzz. And doesn’t that yellow pop against the pale gray?
Snip a garden bloom and place it in a glass for the simplest of updates (Canadian Home and Country Magazine via House of Turquoise). If you want a unified look, match the flower vase to your bathroom style, like this rustic barn-inspired bathroom in Traditional Home, via Decorology. If your style is more eclectic, mix and match styles until you find something you love.
Another simple way to add style, is to add a stool or chair.
These European rustic bathrooms from Skona Hem, via Viva Full House, and Absolutely White win points for massive amounts of style.
A vintage chair, via La Claes.

Chairs work because you’ll have a place to perch while bathing the kiddos. This turquoise chair has me green with envy, Trisha Brink Design via My Paradissi. And a dainty white chair is the perfect accent to this pink bathroom featured in Martha Stewart Living.
Another gorgeous vintage bathroom, with a chair to hold books while you soak (UK Vogue via Susannah Conway).
Finally, wallpaper is an easy way to up the style factor. Because bathrooms are usually small, you can splurge on luxury papers.

I love this diamond pattern paper found in Domino Mag via Apartment Therapy and the bold yellow stripes, Roger Davies for Elle Decor.
This is actually a tile mosaic by New Ravenna Mosiacs via New York Spaces, but any Ikat pattern on paper will feel glamorous and trendy.

Go bold with your patterns, especially if you have clean white fixtures, like these wallpapers found in Boston Globe via The Cross Design. and Zoffany.
Navy starburst pattern, via Lonny Magazine.
If you’re worried about humidity affecting the paper, here are a few tips for putting wallpaper in a bathroom via Apartment Therapy.
