I’m celebrating my birthday this week. I think that’s more important than any current events or presidential debate. My husband gave me this desk tidy piece from black + blum. I’m in love. With both him and the caddy. And I have a lot of quality time planned with friends. I’m not saying it’s all roses. I’m battling moments of grief over the loss of my grandmother, of our dogs, of separation from our families, and of our lives in the States. But I’m happy here, and I think I have hope of community and friendship. And isn’t that a good thing?
