Summer is winding down, but it’s still too hot in most of the States to worry about full makeup for school and work. Yet, going bare-faced to work and meetings isn’t going to cut it. Here’s a few of my go-to favorites for August.
Love, love, love this balm. It’s just enough coverage to smooth out my complexion. It doesn’t feel heavy and lasts all day. Plus, it has anti-aging ingredients and SPF 45 in it. Combine it with mineral powder for flawless coverage. Yes, the price is a bit steep, but it’s basically three products in one: SPF, anti-aging creme, and tinted moisturizer.
I’m not a huge fan of paying a lot for mascara, and this product by Rimmel gives me the oomph I need without hurting my pocketbook. It has a traditional type brush, and doesn’t leave a lot of clumps. And at less than $7, I’m not crying as I checkout.
Sally Hanson Complete Salon Manicure
I admit it. I got sucked in by all the cute manicure tutorials that use Essie nail polish. I bought the most beautiful shade of red. I put on two coats, plus a top and bottom coat, and within two days it was chipped on both my hands and feet. Next time, I’ll stick with Sally Hansen. Specifically the Complete Salon Manicure line (skip the insta dri, it’s terrible). The coverage is thick and lovely, and it stays.
Urban Decay All Nighter Spray*
In the humid south, you can’t go out for more than 15 minutes without sweating all of your makeup off. The only time I forgot to use this spray resulted in sweaty headshots. Yes, I forgot it on the most important day. Erf. But anyway, use this. Look freakishly matte.
