I couldn’t resist the allusion to 50 Shades of Grey. The book is everywhere: debated on Facebook, mentioned on the Today Show, all over the New York Times bestseller list. And while I have read reviews of the book, I have yet to pick up an actual copy. Maybe my not-so-mild feminist finds the theme appalling, or I’ve found myself cringing at the Goodreads reviews that call the writing “amateurish,” “redundant,” and “as if a teenager spit it out in senior Lit class.” I then ping-pong back to, “C’est la vie.” I have my own guilty pleasures when it comes to literature, so who am I to judge?

Sigh.

But anyway. Make a pillow in shades of gray. It’s pretty and includes two trends: a naughty bestseller and ombre.
