I keep a list of home projects I want to accomplish and ideas I want to implement in my head. Sometimes it makes it to paper. Sometimes it stays in my head for years. Having an organized spice drawer is one such project.

At last count, I have almost 70 jars of spices. 70! I wish I could tell you that they are as neatly organized as the drawer above, but that would be a lie, a big-whopping-filled-with-shame-lie. Instead, my spices are completely jumbled up. It takes so much longer to find the right spice. Searching each of those 70 jars to find the right one.

I’m determined to tackle this little problem in March. How delightful would it be to open up a drawer and see all my spices neatly laid out and labeled in tins. The more expensive, and smaller quantities, in cork-stopped vials. How much time it would save!

I have two secret weapons to help me solve this problem: Specialty Bottle and my husband. The former for its fairly priced bulk goods. The later because his strength is labeling and organization, and he’s been begging me to let him organize the drawer since he started cooking every day.

So there you have it. My dirty little organization secret. What’s yours?

I’m really lucky to have a spice rack built into our cupboard door. But I have duplicate spices and need to really sort and organize it. I have a habit of just sticking everything back where ever I can find room.

I love the idea of spices in a drawer, you can see and find easier. Great idea, thanks for posting this:-)
