Good Housekeeping
My vanity is driving me nuts. I have the benefit of having an actual vanity in my bedroom, but the drawers are all unorganized, and the mirror is facing away from a window, so I can’t see well enough to put on makeup without looking like a clown. As giant bathrooms with double sinks and plenty of storage and lighting are pretty much a U.S. thing, and we’re committed to living internationally for the next five years, I’m in the middle of researching vanity inspiration. I thought I would share a few of my favorites.
Nate Berkus gave a few organizing tips in this month’s version of Good Housekeeping. I love the options between revealing and concealing given for each room. I’m more of a concealer, what about you?
House and Home and Lonny Mag
However these two images are making me question whether I should have more of my accessories and makeup in plain view. Is it girly? Yes, but I really believe master bedrooms are best when slightly more feminine than masculine. As if you were inviting your husband in for a visit. Maybe that’s just me?
Anyway, how beautiful is the vanity on the left? I can’t figure out which I love more, vintage or modern. The desk on the left? Love it. The modern acrylic vanity on the right? Love it. How’s a girl to decide?
Coastal Living and Unknown
I’ve never thought of using a vintage armoire as a vanity until I saw this yellow armoire in Coastal Living used as a beach supply station. Can’t you just see little boxes arranged neatly, with a mirror on the middle shelf? For a more modern look, I really like the dressing are on the right. With a sleek little desk perfectly organized and clear of ugly clutter.
