My family has reproduced to the point that none of us can afford both shelter and Christmas gifts for the entire family. Until a few years ago, we did a name draw. Even that has fallen to the wayside as most of us are having children and starting small businesses. I wanted to put together something special for each family unit. And so, the Christmas Gift was born.

Directions:

I started with kraft invitation boxes from Paper Mart. I then sprinkled cinnamon in the bottom to make it smell Christmas-y, and then lined the boxes with red glitter wrapping paper from Paper Source. After that, I placed Ghirardelli Peppermint Bark candies in the top, and measured a divider to keep them from sliding around during shipment.

I then created a template for the Peace on Earth 4bar cards, printed them off and matched them with Red Mars envelopes from Paper Source. Each package has five cards.

They also received a handmade ornament wrapped in tissue paper (you can find details here). The cards were thicker than the ornament, so I placed more Christmas candy underneath it to even it out. Everything was topped with a candy cane heart (hot glued together, next time I’ll use super glue). The box was stamped with a snowflake in silver ink, tied with twine, and decorated with a handmade gift tag and ornament (for those being hand delivered).
