Bedroom Quick Fix

Here’s our 10 minute fix to organizing your bedroom.

Supplies:

• Laundry bins
• Polish, all purpose cleaner, etc.
• Cleaning cloth
• Clean linens

Laundry Duty
Put up all laundry.  Fold and hang the clean.  Put the dirty in the proper bins (lights, darks, handwash, dry clean).

Put away clutter
The bedroom seems to have a lot of flat surfaces (bed, chests, chairs, etc.).  Mine always seem to have an extra outfit, pajamas, books, and so on.  Put everything in its place.  If it doesn’t have a place, create one.

Make the bed
Change your linens and make the bed.  If this is the only thing you have time to do, do this well.  A made bed complete changes the way a room looks.  If you have a linen spray, spritz it over the bed when you’re done.  Lavender or eucalyptus are great scents for linens!

Wipe down surfaces
Dust seems to collect more on bedroom surfaces then anywhere else in the house.  Do a fast wipe down with polish or cleaner.

Sweep/Vaccum
No need to pick everything up off the floor this time, just do a quick sweep underneath the bed and around the sides. Now you have a cleaner and more organized bedroom.

*Bonus* Under Bed Storage
Pull everything out from under your bed and quickly organize.  Make sure any shoes are in the proper containers, luggage is zipped up and completely empty of any items from previous trips.  Get rid of any dust bunnies.  While you’re at it, go through your shoes and donate whatever you can.
